The Meridian Chamber of Commerce honored Matt Capell, owner of Capell Flooring and Interiors, as the 2025 Business Leader of the Year at its annual Business Excellence Awards Luncheon, sponsored by Zions Bank.
The award recognizes outstanding leadership, community service, and contributions to Meridian’s business community. Capell, a second-generation business owner, has led Capell Flooring since 2008 and has continued the legacy his parents began when they opened the company in 1974.
“I am truly humbled and honored to receive this recognition,” said Capell. “This award is not about me—it’s about the people who make everything possible. I want to thank my wife, Patty, my family, our incredible team at Capell Flooring, the Meridian Chamber community, and especially the customers and clients who have trusted us for more than 50 years. I’ve also been blessed with mentors and leaders who shaped me, and I’m grateful for their influence.”
