6. Are you currently short-staffed?
Yes, we are shorter-staffed than we would like at this time. If you know somebody looking for a job, please direct them here or have them email us at sales@capellinteriors.com or call 208-288-0151 - if we miss your phone call, please leave us a message with details, and we will call you back as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience as we work through this like other businesses in the Treasure Valley and nationwide.
7. Are you guys perfect, do you ever have issues or problems?
No, we are not perfect, and we sometimes have issues. Our 5-star online reputation has caused some cases where some people have expectations that just cannot be reached by us. If you are by chance a perfectionist (which we have family members that are, and we love you 😊 ), we feel it is essential to let you know we are not perfect. If you read through our online reviews carefully, if there is a problem, we work to resolve it and make things right and better. We feel that is the mark of a great company that will make things right and not runs away from problems. We would love for every job to go perfectly, but that isn't the case; no matter how hard we try, everything in flooring is fixable. Issues can usually be resolved, which is why we stick to flooring and contracting rather than brain surgery. We always seek improvement as perfection is unattainable, and we choose to operate by this quote: "Strive for continuous improvement, instead of perfection." Kim Collins
8. Can you show us some of your work?
We have made some videos of recent jobs we have completed and have posted them on YouTube. We are new to video, but this will give you a more detailed view of some of our work. Click Here: Capell Flooring and Interiors YouTube Channel.
9. Can I get a copy of your Consumer's Guide to Flooring?
Please take a moment and get my FREE book, “The Consumer’s Guide to Floor Covering.” Go to www.consumersguidetoflooring.com to download your FREE Digital Copy, or stop by our store to pick up a copy today! It is a must-read before shopping for new flooring. At a minimum, it will make you a better-informed flooring shopper in the Boise, Idaho area.
10. Are your installers sub-contractors or employees?
Great question. They are sub-contractors in the flooring industry. An installer will do better work and provide better for their families if they are independent. Nationwide it is rare to find an installer who is an actual flooring store employee. That is the case locally as well. We spend a lot of time finding the best installers to perform work on your behalf, and although neither they nor we are perfect, we will make things right if a problem arises. The warranties and guarantees come through our store. We are very upfront about that, and we don't hide it. If you have questions, please feel free to talk to us. So yes, we outsource our installation. We think we need to coordinate your installation rather than hand you a list and wish you luck.
1. To whom do you sell your products and services?
We will sell to anybody from builders to homeowners. We love to do residential remodeling too. If you plan on multiple residential, new construction, or rental purchases this year, please take the time to fill out a credit application with us.
2. How much does it cost?
The total cost of a purchase has many variables. For accuracy, we feel more comfortable quoting you a price after you have picked out the product(s) and we have measured everything. Please email us at sales@capellinteriors.com or call/text us at (208) 288-0151, so we can discuss this more. It is hard to give you an accurate quote if we don’t know what products you like. Please come do a “ Design Audit ” so we can figure that out together.
3. Do I need a flooring appointment?
No, you don’t need a set meeting, but sometimes it is good to call ahead to set up an appointment. Because we work all over the valley, there are occasional times but not often, when we do not always have sales personnel available in the showroom. If you are working with a builder on a new construction project, we find appointment(s) work well, so we have somebody here that can meet with you since those tend to take a little longer. On most things, please feel free to drop in during business hours . If you need something before we open or in the evening, we can accommodate that; we need some advance notice so we can stay later for you.
4. Free Design Audit ™
This diagnostic tool allows my expert floor consultants to help you choose the right floor for your decorating taste and lifestyle. They’ll walk you through a series of questions that will help narrow down the thousands of options to the two or three that match your unique situation.
5. Honest Pricing
We’ll give you an exact GUARANTEED written quotation after measuring within 2-4 days. Accuracy takes some time, and we want it to be right for you! No hidden costs. All our quotes are good for 10-15 days unless stated otherwise on the quotation.
6. Do you provide free quotes?
Yes, we would love to give you a quote on your project to show you how we can service your specific needs and offer you our exceptional customer service. We only ask that you come into our showroom in Meridian, Idaho, pick out your flooring first, and then we will come out to give you a quote. Pricing has been very volatile, so quotes are guaranteed for 15-30 days or the specific time frame on your written quote.
7. Your quotes are good for how long?
Our quotes are good for 15- 30 days unless otherwise stated. If it has been past 30 days, you will need to discuss it with us directly or get a new quote, especially in today's market where wholesale price changes frequently.
8. Can I apply more than one offer or coupon/special together?
Unfortunately, no. If we already gave you a discount, you can only use 1 at a time, and if they have expired, then they have expired. We can't honor multiple offers/discounts on the same job.
1. Do you only sell carpet(s)?
We sell most flooring products, including but not limited to carpet, hardwood, laminate flooring, vinyl, and luxury vinyl planking, otherwise known as LVP/LVT, and we bind and serge custom area rugs. We also offer laminate countertops. We are NOT currently offering quartz/granite counters, and our company will sell you tile, but we are not presently providing installation on tile as a service.
2. Do you have inventory in stock?
We let the manufacturers be our warehouses on most things, so there aren't dye lot/matching issues with your order. We periodically keep 3-5 carpet and vinyl items in stock for property management, realtors, and those needing something quickly. So if you need something quickly, please check with us. We also work with three suppliers that have either Boise inventory on carpet, LVP, and sheet vinyl, where we can pull products more regionally from Salt Lake City, Portland, or Seattle more quickly than other mills. Depending on your needs and project size, we will also stock specific items for you. Also, suppose you plan on making multiple purchases in a relatively short time. In that case, we are more than happy to negotiate purchasing items in bulk just for you and your particular needs.
3. How long does it take to get my order?
Most products are usually 1–3 weeks out typically. Since 2020 with the Covid-19 developments, several more backorders and delays have occurred. It can take longer to get products like most industries, which has been as much as 6 to 10 weeks out on some things. We are doing our best to keep you in the loop on backorders and delays. Some products are stocked locally by manufacturers and can be picked up the same day as their order. Freight is an inexact science, so sometimes it takes a bit longer, but we try our best to give you accurate information.
Orders are sometimes unexpectedly delayed due to weather and other things out of our control. If it snows in Georgia, where most carpet mills are, the world stops for them, and shipping will be delayed since they are not used to snow. We will always let you know if something of this nature arises and will work to keep you in the loop as quickly as possible. Our suggestion is if you are going to be in your house a long time, it is worth waiting for what you want since you will be living with your purchase for a long time.
4. Does it take longer to get products in the current climate?
Yes, it can take longer to get products due to various reasons. Some examples are freight boats stuck at docks, manufacturers delaying production of products, and shortages of raw materials.
5. Do you sell major name brands?
Much like the Toyota or Ford dealer sells more Toyotas and Fords than other brands. Likewise, we support some brands more than others, so feel free to call us at 208-288-0151 or stop by during store hours .
6. Can I get more flooring of what I already have?
Yes, as long as the manufacturer has not discontinued your particular style. There can sometimes be DYE LOT issues, meaning your product may not exactly match newly manufactured products of the same kind and type. We can help determine if there will be any problems with matching your existing product, and it is also most uncomplicated and helpful if you have the name/style, etc., of the current flooring product.
7. Should I keep leftover carpet scraps or leftover boxes of flooring ?
We like to refer to this as "flooring insurance." We think it is an excellent idea to keep leftover large carpet & sheet vinyl scraps for future repairs and to store them in a climate-controlled area. Also, it is sometimes required by manufacturers to purchase extra boxes of flooring for future repairs and to maintain your warranty. Sometimes people want us to leave leftover scraps, and sometimes they would like us to haul them away. We must know if you want them prior to installation in writing, so we will leave them there. If you have any questions about this, please talk to the office directly, and we can go over what makes the most sense for your house and situation.
8. What is a "Dye Lot"?
Each time a product is produced at its respective mill, this is called a “run” or “dye lot” batch. This is the case with carpet and most types of flooring. Each “run” made at the mill has a slightly different color shading because the products/dyes used cannot be exactly duplicated each time. The dye lot is unique every time that carpet is dyed and constructed. Those of you who knit or sew will understand this completely. Paint is similar too. If you buy the same paint color a year later, it will be slightly different because it is a new dye lot. We want to ensure that all carpet in your house is the same dye lot whenever possible.
9. Can you show me the hardwood flooring that will not scratch?
I'm with you on this one; I wish this were true, but it just isn't the case ~ all flooring can be scratched, dinged, and damaged depending on what you do, and contrary to popular belief, LVP is not bullet-proof, no flooring is scratch proof.
Please remember stainless steel is incredibly hard; the next time you look at your sink, you can see even that scratches a lot. Hardwood flooring is the most obedient floor. It will respond to anything you do to it. If you leave an ice cube on the floor, that area will swell. Please always be careful with your floors and remember all flooring will scratch.
10. Can direct sunlight damage my flooring?
With most types of flooring, you need to be aware of sunlight and how it hits your floor. Many different types of floors can be affected and warp, fade or lose color if it is large enough. Windows can be a giant magnifying glass to the flooring and surrounding areas. Blinds, window tinting, and drapes are sometimes necessary to protect different types of LVP, hardwood, and sheet vinyl. If you have questions about your situation, please ask.
11. Why does the color on my monitor or photo not match the sample?
Computer/phone monitors have different resolutions, settings, and quality. It is always best to come to pick and feel the actual sample and bring them to your home or space. Due to the many variations in monitors and browsers, color samples may appear different on different monitors. Computer monitors are not all calibrated equally, and color reproduction on the Internet or a cell phone photo is not precise. Since it is impossible to guarantee our online colors will look the same on all computers, we do not guarantee that what you see accurately portrays the color of the actual color. All the companies do their best to make the online pictures as close to the physical color as possible. Please keep this in mind.
12. Does my office flooring need protection from my chair?
If you have a home office or work office where your chair will be wheeling around in circles continuously throughout the day, then most manufacturers require you to have a chair mat designed for your type of flooring. If you have carpet, LVP, hardwood, LVP, etc., they will wear out quickly, and your chair will damage the floor and ultimately void any/all warranties that your floor may have. The long and short of it, if you want to keep your warranty and protect your investment, please get plastic or glass floor mats to protect where your chair sits in your house or business.
13. Is pricing stable right now?
There are a lot of changes in pricing every week, so please keep this in mind. The overall inflation we are experiencing in our country also affects the flooring world. We are trying to keep everything up to date in our showroom, but if the price tag is over 30 days old, you can assume that the pricing has changed.
1. Do you provide flooring installation?
We provide installation for everything we sell except for tile. If you have a tile installer, we are more than happy to sell you just the product. Our installers are sub-contractors, but the warranties come through our store. We install flooring jobs in the Boise Idaho area only. We discuss this in more detail down below in another FAQ #43. Please note: We do not install products that we do not sell.
2. You will be updated throughout the installation process.
From the time you select the product until after the product is installed, you will be contacted no fewer than 3-6 times by mail, text, phone, and email. Sometimes it will take a little longer to get back to you than we would like, but we will get back to you once we have accurate information or update(s) as they happen. If you have a preferred method of contact, just let us know.
3. Would you do the plumbing for us, i.e., re-install our toilets, waterline to a fridge, or sinks?
By Idaho law, we can only remove plumbing items. We cannot re-install toilets, sinks, hookups of fridges/washers, or move dishwashers. You can do these yourself. Still, your best bet would be to call a fully licensed plumber who is insured because a water leak can be a relatively expensive proposition, and plumbers are covered. The same goes for electrical and other trades you need to be specialty licensed for in Idaho.
4. Which direction should I run my flooring?
Please discuss this with us at your home or office. If there is no preference in flooring direction, most manufacturers recommend running perpendicular to the floor joists. If you prefer to run in the opposite direction, let's look at the integrity of the sub-floors. We can then discuss if it is plausible to run with the joists before installation.
5. Will you move my dishwasher?
Most often, moving a dishwasher with new kitchen flooring isn't necessary; it is usually best to leave it in place. If you want your new flooring installed under your dishwasher, that is great; however, you will need to take care of that personally or hire a licensed and insured plumber or other adequately insured and licensed professional to take care of things like that for you.
6. Will you install flooring in camper trailers or RVs?
Our sincerest apologies, but we no longer offer that service. We have had too many problems with trailer parts that pull in and out and snag flooring. Also, most RV and camper trailers are not properly acclimatized, and most flooring needs consistent temperatures to succeed. Your best bet is to call a local RV dealer since they have the specialization required for this specialty service.
1. How often should I vacuum my carpet?
Installing new carpet in your home is a significant investment, and your carpet must be maintained per manufacturer guidelines. Protect your investment by investing in a good vacuum and using it as often as possible. Please note that carpet warranties don't apply to hallways, walkways, and stairs because of the heavy traffic, so vacuuming these areas more often will help with appearance retention. Please be careful what vacuum you use. Some vacuums (such as specific Dyson models ) sometimes have too much suction and pull carpet tufts out of the actual carpet backing. Please click here to see if your vacuum is approved by the Carpet and Rug Institute . Also, if your carpet is long or "shag"-like, please use a suction-only vacuum because a beater bar will ruin the long tufts. If you have more specific questions, please call us or refer to the manufacturer warranty directly.
2. How often should I clean my carpets?
New carpet is a substantial investment, and we congratulate you on making that decision . Your carpet and all flooring should be appropriately cared for to maintain appearance. Carpet manufacturers require you to professionally deep clean your carpets every 12-18 months to maintain your warranty. If you have a claim with the manufacturer, you must provide paid receipts for your cleanings. Please click here to see what your carpet manufacturer requires and their preferred method for cleaning. to see what your carpet manufacturer requires and their preferred cleaning method. Most manufacturers recommend " truck-mounted hot water extraction ," but please check first with us or go here to research this yourself.
3. Why is my carpet lying down on my stairs and hallways?
Again, all wear and texture warranties are void on heavy traffic areas, halls, and stairs. Carpet is impressive, but at the end of the day, it is still a fiber/fabric type material. Your best bet in those high-traffic areas is to vacuum more often. Also, it's crucial to have high-traffic areas professionally cleaned every 3 to 6 months instead of the minimum of every 18 months that carpet manufacturers require to keep their warranties.
4. Can you get me trackless carpeting?
Carpet has become softer and softer over the years, and when carpet moves, it will show vacuum marks. Vacuum marks are not a defect. Truly trackless carpet tends to be stiff looped berbers, and the carpet's nap will not move and show footprints or vacuum marks. Those aren't the most popular styles currently but will work well in some applications. So remember, if you want your carpet soft, you will see vacuum and footprints.
5. Will you promise me I won't be able to see a seam in my carpet?
Our installers are very talented and do great work. Please keep in mind that whenever you put two pieces of material together, for example, in clothing or carpet, it is possible to see a seam sometimes. Seams will be more apparent with lower profile carpets such as looped Berbers, Loop Cut Loop (LCL), or patterned carpets. They also can be more visible in tighter pulled-down plush and Saxony-type carpets. Frieze carpet styles are the least likely to show seams because of the perm-like nature of the fibers. We do our best to make all seams as least invisible as possible. We also lay your carpet out to manage the balance of seaming your carpet excessively versus not at all. We don't want you to purchase excess carpet unnecessarily. The following is from CRI - Carpet and Rug Institute about seams :
Proper Seam Characteristics:
•With any seaming method, a properly constructed seam:
•has cleanly trimmed edges properly secured with edge/seam sealer
•has tightly abutted edges without gaps or overlaps
•maintains reasonable pattern match where applicable
•will not be invisible
6. Can my baseboard not be scratched when installing carpet?
On most carpets, the backing is like sandpaper. Our installers try to be extremely careful, but tucking carpet into edges and under baseboard can cause a little bit of scratching. We are sorry about it and do our best to avoid it, but sometimes it is unavoidable. If this is a big concern, there are carpets with soft-backing that will minimize this problem. Please discuss this with us during your Design Audit.
8. Do you give free carpet cleaner with a purchase?
Yes, we do currently! We will provide you with a bottle of carpet spotter if you purchase carpet from us. We have found grocery store cleaners don't work as well. We do this as a service to help you keep your new carpet looking great. We request that you bring in your empty bottle to the store, and we will refill it for you. You can always purchase additional bottles if you want more than just one bottle. Learn more about this current program by clicking here .
9. Do you sell area rugs?
We offer custom rug binding and serging. We can take any carpet we provide and turn it into an area rug for you in most sizes. It is a great way to get the exact size area rug you want and something that will coordinate well with your current home and decor.
We can do standard binding or serging, which is a superior edge. We have samples of both types in our showroom we can show you. It is often a good idea to bring in scraps and leftover carpet to get bound for your doorsteps and walk-in areas of the home too.
2. How often will I need to refinish my solid hardwood floors?
On average, hardwood floors need to be refinished every 7-12 years. A lot will depend on your home environment on how often that needs to take place. Dogs, children, water damage, large windows that act like a magnifying glass, and other environmental factors greatly affect how long the finish will last. Hardwood floors are great though because if you have solid 3/4" wood, you can refinish your floors on average 4-6 times, if not more, so they last a very long time and add beauty to your home for decades.
3. Is there a smell associated with hardwood stain and finish?
Unfortunately, there are smells related to hardwood finishes and stains. There is no way around that; it is part of the process. Some people are more affected by the scents than others, so please be aware of this. Opening windows and circulating fresh air helps, but a smell will always be associated with the finishes and stains. The scent will diminish and go away in time. It is not permanent. In 1-3 days, most people find that it doesn’t bother them or they don’t notice it as much, but everyone reacts to the smells differently. While finishing hardwood floors, pets and animals (i.e. cats, dogs, fish, etc.) need to move offsite or outside; some plants can even react adversely to the finish. The finish can kill them (pets and plants). We are not trying to be dramatic because this really can happen. When in doubt, take them out of the house. If you are overly sensitive to things like this, please discuss it with us. You might need to stay out of the house longer or take further precautions. Each person is different, and we cannot be held responsible for allergic reactions to hardwood stains and finishes. Here are some environmental benefits of hardwood flooring - click here.
4. Why is my light left on when my hardwood is refinished at my house?
When refinishing a home, you must start on one end of the room and work your way out of the room unless you "paint yourself" in a corner. You will have the occasional light that must be left on all night because the finisher needs light to work but can't walk across a finished floor before it is dry to turn off the light.
5. I found a hair in my hardwood finish or a spec of dust; why is that?
I found a hair in my hardwood finish or a spec of dust; why is that? First of all, don’t panic. Read this article by clicking here . Hardwood manufacturers have a standard of excellence that states that if you can’t see something in the floor from a standing position, the floor was done per NWFA standards. That being said, things can float to the ground after we leave, don’t scratch or pick at whatever is in the floor finish. They will come out independently with routine cleaning, sweeping, and vacuuming. Please be patient--it will work itself out in time and look great.
6. When can I put my area rugs back on my hardwood floor after refinishing my hardwood?
It is best to wait at least three weeks before putting area rugs back on a newly finished hardwood floor. Also, if the backing is rough, please purchase some rug foam from us or find some to protect your wood floor.
7. Why is my hardwood flooring lighter in color after refinishing?
As they age and oxidize, most hardwood floors will get darker or change color over time. American Cherry will darken over time. Hickory and Maple floors will become more yellow over time. It is common and to be expected that your floor will look lighter after a refinishing.
8. Should I use a polish product on my hardwood from the grocery store or a grocery carpet cleaner?
Please don't use these products. A polished product from a grocery store will make your floor look good initially but, over time, builds up and leaves a mess that is hard to fix later. Also, most grocery store carpet cleaners tend to leave a sticky residue and don't work that great overall. We have solutions for both, so please talk to us , and we can get you products that work well by flooring manufacturers. Here is a link to some great hardwood care tips.
9. Do you give free hardwood cleaner refills?
Unfortunately, we don't offer free hardwood cleaner refills. If we are running a promotion for a FREE bottle/kit with the purchase of hardwood, then you are more than welcome to purchase refills. So if you need a bottle, or have run out, feel free to ask us about buying more.

1. Granite is a natural product, and because of that, it has imperfection, which is part of its beauty.
Let us explain…By nature, quarried marble, granite, and other natural stones have conditions that cannot be controlled, i.e. color, size, veins, fissures, and thickness. All-natural stone products offered have been cut from carefully selected blocks that were cut directly from mountains worldwide. Please understand that, as a natural product, the stone may contain small to medium naturally occurring imperfections characteristic of the material. These imperfections may include, but are not limited to, color and shade variations, geological flaws, irregular markings, voids, veins, or fissures which resemble cracks yet are not. It is standard industry practice to repair these imperfections by one or more of the following methods: waxing, filling, or rodding. These imperfections are part of the beauty of the natural stone and will not impair the function or wearing qualities of the material. Seams might not match perfectly from one side to the other because granite is a rock and not manufactured. We are currently not offering granite or quartz counters in our offerings.
1. Does my product have a warranty?
All manufacturer warranties apply to the products we sell. Some manufacturers require certain things like having your carpets cleaned periodically to keep the warranty valid, so please ask us for the warranty information that applies to your specific products. All product warranties are from the respective manufacturer warranties and are not directly from Capell Flooring and Interiors.
You can void your warranties if you don't get your carpet professionally cleaned at specific time frames. Also, installing carpet in bathrooms and laundry rooms and not replacing your carpet cushion can void your warranties. Please ask if you have any questions or refer to your specific manufacturer warranty! Note, we also reserve the right to cancel your contract from us if you try not to pay us or things of that nature. If you have questions, please talk to us!
Still, have a question? We want to be your trusted advisers, so please feel free to ask us anything that you might need or want to know about floor coverings. Please call us or submit a question by email to sales@capellinteriors.com, and we will get back to you with an answer as soon as possible. We may even write a blog about your question to answer it for others who may have the same question. We appreciate your questions--so please do not hesitate to ask us. We are here for you.
