☑ Granite is a natural stone that’s extremely durable and heat-resistant.
☑ Quartz is an engineered stone made from natural quartz and resin, offering a non-porous, low-maintenance surface.
☑ Quartzite is a natural stone that looks like marble but is much harder and more resistant to etching.
Quartz is the easiest to maintain since it's non-porous, meaning it resists stains, bacteria, and doesn’t need sealing. Granite and quartzite require regular sealing to prevent moisture absorption.
Yes, granite and quartzite can handle high heat. However, quartz is more heat-sensitive due to its resin content, so we recommend using trivets for hot pots and pans.
No, quartzite has natural veining, similar to marble, while quartz is engineered and comes in a variety of patterns, colors, and finishes, including designs that mimic quartzite or marble.
Granite and quartzite should be sealed at least once a year to maintain their stain resistance. Quartz never needs sealing since it's non-porous.
While granite and quartz are very durable, we recommend using a cutting board to protect your knives and prevent minor surface damage over time.
It depends on the style! Some high-end quartz options may be more expensive than granite, but in general, they are similarly priced. Rarer granite slabs can be more costly due to limited availability.
Granite is ideal for outdoor kitchens because it’s naturally resistant to UV rays and weather conditions. Quartz is not recommended for outdoor use, as direct sunlight can cause discoloration over time.
☑ Granite & Quartzite – Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner and reseal annually. Avoid acidic cleaners.
☑ Quartz – Clean with a mild soap and water—no sealing required! Avoid harsh chemicals or excessive heat exposure.
